Next week, while farmers continue or begin harvest, we pause and reflect on the importance of safety on farms and farm-related businesses. Although we believe that farm safety should be preached every single day, it’s important to help our industry advocate continually for safe agriculture practices.
As a reminder, here are ways to make National Farm Safety and Health Week count, as well as advance your farm-safety education:
Take to Social Media
The best way to get the word out is to spread the word yourself. On Twitter, use the hashtag #FSHW15 to talk about how you practice safety on your own agricultural operation. Share tips, resources and ideas across your network, and you can even share the link to this blog!
Attend a NECAS Safety Webinar
NECAS will be offering a webinar each day of this Safety Week at noon CDT. You can involve all of your employees and continue to educate them! Here are the topics for the week:

Say Thank You
Take time this ag-designated week to thank your employees, co-workers, families and supervisors for all they do to promote a safe workplace. Make it fun—bring in doughnuts or treat on Monday, September 19—and have a “Farm Safety Week Kickoff.”
Good Day’s Work is excited to celebrate National Farm Safety and Health Week this year, and we hope that you will do what you can to join us in our mission to promote a safer environment in agriculture.
